Silly Mittens...

My wonderful husband moved the bird feeder
to a pole in the middle of the yard so our cat, Mittens,
would stop harrasing the birds.
Do you think it's working?

Things that make me smile...

Farm Fresh Eggs,

My Flowers in bloom,

How sideways toys turn into pirate ships,
And the sight of my apple trees off to a good start;)

Summer in March?

Well, I'm utterly speechless,
which if you ask my husband NEVER happens:)
We have been having crazy weather for Wisconsin in March-
I'm talking 70's and 80's.
This is a nice change, but unfortunately happened right around maple syrup season,
which is bad.
We did yield more than we thought, but less than half yielded from last year.
When we got home from getting my oldest from school,
the kids indulged in a little ice cream treat outside.

Of course, we couldn't just stop with ice cream.

We got out the hammock.

And the kids found the last of last years bubbles.

They giggled the whole time
while Mama took a load off and lounged in the hammock.
(For about five whole minutes before fixing bubble sticks)

We ended the day with a phone call to Nana and Papa.
It was a great day.

Our Cousin

Last week we had the privilege of having my nephew come over for the day.

The girls loved playing with their cousin.

Of course, they all wanted a treat so we decided to make chocolate chip cookies.

We took turns pour and stirring.

All of the kids love to cook.

The tongues were all out in concentration.
We had a blast making memories.

Sorry for the delay...

My apologies to those of you who were looking for a new post recently.
Life has been exceptionally busy for us lately.
My husband recently took a new  job position and we have been adjusting/enjoying
the extra time with Zach at home.
I now have my husband home every night and every weekend!
The kids are in heaven and so are the parents:)
This past weekend was our maple tree tapping weekend.

The kids excitement is overwhelming when it comes to maple tapping.
They basically ran around screaming the whole time.

We ended up putting up about 50 taps this year and instead of
purchasing new holders for the added taps,
Zach found someone who made holders out of PVC pipe
so we are going to give that a try this year.

We were so blessed to have Nana come out this last weekend for a visit.
We had a great time and this was her first time seeing maple tree tapping up close.

All of the blue you see are the bags that hold the sugar water
and have to be emptied daily.
If you look closely, the bag on the left of this picture has the regular holders
and the one on the right is the new pvc holder we are trying out.

This was the first one we put on
and by the time we were done putting all the taps in,
this is how much it filled within an hour.
Can't wait to start cooking!
