Turkey, turkey, turkey...

Zach had the wonderful idea this weekend to take the family bowling.
We have never been bowling as a family.
My eldest was the only one of the kids that had ever been bowling,
all thanks to a birthday party.
 The excitement was overwhelming.

The girls weren't strong/coordinated enough to bowl without use of the ramp.

I love this picture- the whole time my big girl was chanting
turkey, turkey, turkey.
Even though there hadn't been a strike yet:)

She loved being able to have two chances to knock down the pins.

Look at the natural. He is a really athletic kid and picks up things fast.

They all did great and had so much fun.
I love being able to share experiences with my children
that I have fond memories of when I was a kid.

Like mother, like son.

 The first game scores.
My little princess was proud to have the highest score her first time bowling.

I couldn't help it...
The little bowling shoes were the cutest things I think I have ever seen!

Couldn't Be more in Love...

with my husband for making me a beautiful set of cabinets
to add storage space in my kitchen.
Of course, I didn't make it easy on him,
I wanted a new cabinet that looked like it came out of a
hundred year old farm house.

My talented love went far beyond my expectations with his design.

Zach matched the cabinets to my trim around my doorway,
that was taken out of a hundred year old house:)

My wonderful husband has been slaving away for weeks on this project.
It was well worth the wait.

My new cabinets are everything I could have hoped for.
I'm so excited to fill my new cabinets and start utilizing them.
All I feel right now is overwhelming gratitude for my family/friends,
amazing talents of my husband whom I adore, and my beautiful home.
I am blessed!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We don't usually do anything big for Valentine's Day.
So I figured I do a little something more this year
for Zach and the kids.

My big girl and I had a fun time with lots of laughs
making/decorating this cake.

We hope your Valentine's was as sweet as ours.

Introducing...

...a night of entertainment from my big girls.
We were told they had to practice for a performance
they were going to be putting on after dinner.
They stayed in their rooms for an hour practicing.

They came out every time with a new song and a new tutu.

 In between the performances,
they would run into their room and shut the door
and giggle and laugh.

My big girl kept having trouble with her tutu,
which just made me giggle a little more.
She never was very concerned about her appearance:)

She does have rhythm though.
She had those hips a movin'.

My oldest got roped into doing the lighting halfway through.
No way was he going to dance, but this he could handle.

I don't know who had more fun.
Thanks Aunt Mae Mae and Uncle Bri for the girls tutu's.
They have already provided hours of entertainment!

Dig, Dig, Dig

We were lucky enough to have my Aunt Mary come for a couple of days.
It was a wonderful visit filled with memories, laughs, and a few glasses of wine.
The snow had come through (luckily the day before she had to travel)
and left the woods looking beautiful.

The boys, meanwhile, had been working on a fort every night.
They had me working too, from inside the house,
filling water jugs so they
could turn the top solid with ice.

They just broke through!

They each took turns going through and expanding the tunnel to make it bigger.
I believe an addition of windows was going to be implemented next.

Here was my big girl...I'm not sure if you can tell in this picture,
but she is crying.
It was her first time going through the tunnel and she got halfway
through and started yelling "I'm stuck"
I believe that was the last time she went through...
I don't blame her- I'd be crying too.

And lastly,
my favorite picture.
This was the punishment for bickering, yelling, and
blaming each other for whatever injustice was being done.
They learned to work together as a team while holding hands,
they went downstairs and picked up their snow pants, coats, and hats as a team.
